She wakes at dawn
goes down the stairs,
a simple gown
is all she wears.

Her bare feet pad
across the floor
a few steps through
the kitchen door

where she prepares
a private cup
of herbal tea,
then picks it up

to go outside
and greet the sun.
Hestia's day
gently begun.
