SUMMER HAIKU
wind, rain and darkness
heaviness pervades the earth
a sunbeam breaks through

| soft blooms of pale pink
tumble out from sage green leaves
fabric's illusion
|
|
|
sun dappled curtains
hint of a beautiful day
there's housework to do
|
|
| fresh cut firewood
musty smell of earth
whiff of coffee
|
|
|
smoke of wood fires
through afternoon shadows
stitching needlepoint
|
|
| waking to sunshine
summer like weather today
humid clouds roll in
|
giant maple leaf
bows to the earth
sunshine glowing through
|
|
| drowsing to the sound
of wind dancing in trees
a truck roars by
