Quilt History Timeline: Pre-History to 1800

Did you know that an ivory carving found in an Egyptian temple in 1903 features the king wearing a cloak that appears to be quilted? Were you aware of the fact that the oldest surviving quilted object was found in a Mongolian cave tomb and is thought to date back to about one century BC to two centuries AD? The International Quilt Study Center has published dozens of such facts in their Quilt History Timeline Pre-History - 1800 They are currently working on extending the timeline through the 19th and 20th centuries.
