"Love of Quilts: A Treasury of Classic Quilting Stories", an anthology of quilt stories first published in 1993 has just been reissued. This book includes fiction from such early sources as "Godey's Lady's Book," "Harper's Bazaar," and "Good Housekeeping". These stories were originally published from 1845 through 1940. This book was compiled by quilt historians Cuesta Benberry and Carol Crabb.
Quilting fiction is a wonderful part of our heritage that reflects more than the quilt making in earlier times. These stories also reveal a great deal about the attitudes and lives of women. This is a book to curl up in a cozy chair and just enjoy as you are taken into the world of the past.
