Women On Quilts: Interviews, Teleclasses & Webcasts

connecting on creativity

Announcing a new and unique learning opportunity offered by Kimberly Wulfert, PhD

Quilt Historian, speaker, teacher , published writer & researcher, quilt maker, collector and psychologist.

I've signed up to be a VIP member of Kim Wulfert's "Women On Quilts". I have attended two of Kim's workshops and found her to be a dynamic and inspiring teacher so I am eager to take part in some of the events she is planning. What a great opportunity it will be to hear other's stories of how they did things to get where they are. Read on to learn of the goals and plans Kim shared with me when I interviewed her.

Women On Quilts is for and about women engaged in a business within the wide world of quilts and for all women who contribute meaning to their lives and others through quilting.

Through interviews and classes over the telephone, teleclasses and webcasted visuals Kim Wulfert will give you easy access to meet some of the great women for which quilting is a part of their life and career

It is through transparency and discussion about what we do that we build our credibility and value in the eyes of the world market. It is also how we encourage young girls and women to look at quilt related careers as an option when thinking about their future. We as women, are our best source of information about why and how we do business in the quilt world. Only we can pass this knowledge on to other women.

What Kim refers to is how a woman's cognition, attenuation and personality affect her manner of doing business. Women think differently than men and their brains are literally wired differently. We have the benefit of both sides of our brain being more available to us than men because we have more crossover connections naturally in our brains. Viewing the world from our minds paints a bigger picture, taking more into account when making decisions, seeing choices, and considering implications of each action we take. Did we need science to tell us that?

Kim will offer classes and seminars some of which will be helpful to all artists and business people. Motivation, learning, risk taking, using our assets, conquering fears, and finding solutions are aspects of every women's life. Confidence and creativity are powerful energies needed in any pursuit if it is to be effective and satisfying.

Her teleclasses and webcasts will cover such topics as

  • how to do research, from finding your topic to completing your project using the left and right hemispheres and intuition
  • how to date quilts and fabric, and other history topics

Calling upon her background and experience in psychology topics will include
